Baker Robert Walker established Walkers Bakery & Tearooms in Water Street, Skipton, in 1998, branching out three years later to launch Walkers Exclusive Chocolates. Over the years, he has honed and developed his chocolate-making skills, gaining valuable experience in both Belgium and Switzerland, the world’s chocolate-making capitals.

A new chocolate-making factory and shop opened on the bakery premises and this was followed by the launch of a second chocolate shop in Newmarket Street, Skipton, in 2004.  Here, examples of Walkers famous chocolate wedding cakes can be seen, alongside literally hundreds of other chocolate products catering for every conceivable taste.

All chocolates are handmade on the premises, with the chocolate tempered each morning so that products have both brittleness and lustre.  Only the best ingredients are used, with plain chocolate containing 70% cocoa solids and only genuine liqueurs.  Preservatives and essences have no place in Walkers’ processes.

Take, for example, Swiss-style truffles filled with Champagne or Bailey's Irish Cream, honey squares, caramels and old-fashioned rose and violet creams. These are supported by a huge array of miscellaneous, sporting, animal and novelty chocolates, plus a range of speciality presentation boxes, which can also be ordered through our online shop.

A wide range of seasonal and special occasion chocolates offers many gift ideas for family and friends at Easter, Christmas, Mother's Day, Father's Day and Valentine’s Day.

Our range of Easter eggs includes super and giant-sized eggs that are in ever-growing demand among charitable organisations for fund-raising initiatives.  The jewel in the Walkers’ crown is “The Big One,” a 4ft high Easter egg, weighing in at 40-kilos and thought to be the largest made in Europe. It takes three people just to carry it!

Extensive festive season offerings make really novel and unusual Christmas presents - and include a giant chocolate Father Christmas.
